Do I have to send you my passport to get a Myanmar (Burma) visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Myanmar (Burma) visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for a Myanmar (Burma) Visa for Australian Citizens

  1. Former nationals

Former nationals of Myanmar, regardless of their Immigration status in Australia, MUST contact the Embassy of Myanmar directly before submitting their application with VisasDirect. It is recommended that applicants include a cover letter with their application, confirming that contact has been made with the Embassy.

It should be noted that the applicant themselves must contact the Embassy direct, as the Embassy will not discuss applications for former Myanmar nationals with a third party on behalf of the applicant.

Please Note: The processing delay of visas will vary and will be determined by the Embassy. The applicant should establish the processing delay when making the initial call to the Embassy. Extensive processing delays may be experienced and VisasDirect is unable to request processing updates or estimated release dates.
